2026 Nail Art Trends: Colours, Textures and Patterns to Try
Every year brings its share of novelties in nail art, and 2026 is no exception. Between technical advances in nail prosthetics and the return of more understated finishes, our trainers have spotted several trends already resurfacing on social media and in salons.
The first strong trend: chrome and mirror finishes, gradually replacing the classic glossy polish. Technically more demanding, they require perfect mastery of gel application and precise drying time — a technique explored in detail in our advanced nail art module. At the opposite end, “baby boomer” pastel ombrés are making a strong comeback for a soft, gentle result, particularly requested for weddings and events.
On the pattern side, minimalist graphic nail art appeals to a clientele wanting a personalised nail without overdoing it: a fine line, a golden dot, a micro-pearl are enough to create a signature effect. Conversely, some bolder clients favour three-dimensional creations with relief and inlays, a technical exercise we go deeper into at the end of the nail prosthetics curriculum.
What doesn’t change, however, is the need to properly prepare the nail before any application: it’s what guarantees the result lasts, whatever the trend of the moment. Our students know it well: successful nail art always starts with a flawless base.
